Before
Personally, our kitchen was the most heinous offence to my design sensibilities when we bought the house.
Perhaps the yellow safety hazard curtains above the stove were the reason.
Or just the whole pink and yellow color scheme in general.
Regardless, the whole kitchen needed a new coat of white paint. Just white. I wasn’t willing to figure out a color scheme until I got rid of the pink.
In Progress
We also removed a few of the design details to open up the space.
A perforated partition was ripped out.
The hinged table top was also removed.
Then we painted with some help. (Thanks Mom and Dad!)
Nate ripped out the linoleum to reveal more concrete underneath.
Finally we has a clean palate. Isn’t already a hundred times better?
Next up was removing the glue off the concrete floors…
…and installing new plugs throughout.
Next up, fixing a big leak in our skylight this summer and giving the walls a splash of color.
